Star Trek XI in 2008!!
Its true! A new Star Trek movie is slated for a 2008 release.
Producing and directing is Mission Impossible: III director J.J. Abrams, who also produced the hit series Lost and Alias.

J.J. Abrams will be writing the script with Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci, who wrote Mission Impossible: III.

The movie will take us back and focus on the early days of James T. Kirk and Spock, including their first meeting at Starfleet Academy and their first mission in space.

As of yet there is no official name for the movie but it will be the eleventh in the franchise.

No actors have been named yet so the field is open for speculation, who can play Kirk? and more importantly, who can play Spock??
One thing's for sure, whoever it is, he better have pointy ears!
